Ba Duan Jin means literally "Eight Pieces of Silk Brocade," first described in an 8th century Taoist text. When you practice these eight elegant and graceful exercises, it is almost like your body is covered in very fancy and healthy and clothes to defend you against any sickness. Chinese Medical Science has used Ba Duan Jin for centuries as the foundation of healing, especially, for internal organs, such as liver, kidneys, spleen, heart and lungs.
Centuries ago, during their meditations, Taoist sages discovered that healthy organs vibrate at particular sound frequency. They developed six sounds that emulate these frequencies and combined them with postures that activate the acupuncture meridians of each organ. When the sounds and postures are performed, inner organs release excess heat, and emotions such as anxiety, sadness, anger, fear and worry - are cleared from our bodies.

Like Therapeutic Qi Gong, Meridian Qi Gong was thoroughly researched. It has shown to have particularly outstanding effects in treating chronic and difficult diseases. Meridian Qi Gong was created by Professor Zhang Guan De, who was honored by the State for the quality of his Qi Gong system. In China his method of medical Qi gong has been officially recognized by the Ministry of Health and is used by hospitals and sanatoria for the treatment of various illnesses.
